Perforations
The line of perforation—the option to separate a portion from the whole—belongs almost exclusively to the realm of global power struggles, to politicians and leaders who draw and redraw boundaries. The destructive nature of this act, the damage inflicted on unity, and its irreversible character are phenomena that drive my creative process. The anxiety that follows separation introduces doubt, a lingering question of whether the rupture was necessary or justified—but once made, the act cannot be undone. Its physicality, its permanence, underscores the gravity of the decision itself. It is this tension between action and consequence that compels my exploration.
